Inertia – Or, Why I Struggle to Restart

It is the nature of the writing business to run in fits and spurts, I think.

Earlier, I wrote of entropy and the relentless march of time in the forward direction.

Inertia, is, I think, the cousin of entropy.

Happily, I’m devoid of any kind of serious or formal education, and therefore free to haphazardly associate scientific concepts in any way which pleases me.

So, here we go!

Inertia, or the tendency of objects to remain in motion, is an important concept.  In this case, it the sister corollary, or the tendency of objects to remain at rest, to which I refer.

You see, I am a typical descendant of my closest mammalian cousin, pan troglodytes.  Which is to say, I enjoy hanging out.  A great deal.  Perhaps even more than your average pan-descendant.

Este Es la Vida Loca

Well, sports fans, I’ve returned.

I have carefully considered my earlier question of the day – why do we stay in this crazy game called project management?

I have come to a conclusion.

It’s the game itself which brings us back.

Where else can one compete at this level, with a clear view of the goal line and a chance to make the big play?

It’s like being a C-level executive, only without the board or shareholders to whom we must answer.

We get the team, we understand the objective, we make the calls, and we win or we lose.

It’s the rush, baby, it’s the rush.
